We pride ourselves on acting ethically, fairly, and with integrity wherever we do business, and we seek relationships with business partners who share our values.
Mutual respect fosters mutual commitment to shared business objectives, including our efforts to ensure safe and secure global supply chains.
We are aware that, as part of our business activities, we have responsibilities towards society and the environment.
We maintain a close dialogue with all of our stakeholders. This allows us to continue to update our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy in the regions in which we operate.
Safety and Environment
Throughout our history, Trammo has recognized the need for social, economic, and environmental responsibility in all areas of our business. We therefore are committed to complying with or exceeding all applicable legislation and standards.
All of the products we purchase or sell meet the highest standards for legal health, safety, and environmental requirements. We ask our business partners to adhere to the same standards in their operations.
We expect our suppliers to:
-
Comply with all applicable legal requirements.
-
Behave ethically in all business-related matters.
-
Reflect the values and standards described in this policy, and be open to feedback.
-
Report on any violations and compliance issues relating to contractual dealings with Trammo.
-
Always consider the impact of its practices on the environment and its employees.
We strive to adopt best practices to minimize, where possible, the impact of our business on communities and the environment.
Sustainability
We believe in a greener future for our planet, and we are playing our part in making this happen with our engagement in ‘Green Ammonia’, or ammonia made from renewable energy sources. We are involved in a variety of Green Ammonia projects around the world. These include projects in Canada, Chile, Netherlands and India, which will all use our fleet of specialized refrigerated vessels to transport green ammonia.

Our commitment to the environment involves minimizing the adverse impact of our activities by responsible sourcing of commodity raw materials. We are engaging in the energy transition by tracking and working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions at our terminal and production facilities.

All of the products and services we purchase or sell meet applicable legal health, safety, and environmental standards. We ask our business partners to respect the same standards.
For the past two years, Trammo has been awarded a prestigious bronze medal by EcoVadis for its commitment to sustainability and corporate social responsibility. EcoVadis is the world’s largest provider of business sustainability ratings, with a global network of over 130,000 rated companies in more than 220 industries and 180 countries.
EcoVadis’ assessments are detailed and rigorous, analyzing companies’ performance in 21 criteria across four categories: Environment, Labor and Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. Our score demonstrates our long-term commitment to the well-being of our employees, our customers and the environment.
Philanthropy
Trammo is committed to carrying out the philanthropic goals set by our founder, Ronald P. Stanton (1928-2016). These include support of charitable institutions in medicine, education and the arts.
In honor of former CEO and Board member Brent Hart’s retirement and long-term service to Trammo and the Fertilizer Industry, Trammo made a significant donation to support the Hart Fund for Soil Research and the Brent and Cindy Hart Professorship at the Iowa State College of Agriculture.
